This is an old revision of the document!
Welcome to Shane's Ideas Wiki. This is for creating Ideas, plans, and other things that can be usefully organised in a Wiki.
Here are some useful hints to get going.
The easiest way to create a new page is to find an existing page in the same section, open it, then just edit the page name in the address bar and hit Enter. When it says the page doesn't exist, it will allow you to edit it anyway to create a new page using the Edit icon.
For example, suppose you want to create an Examples page in the Wiki section. Click on the Wiki → Syntax page, and the address bar looks like this:
http://ideas.liffeydublin.com/wiki/doku.php?id=wiki:syntax
Change the bit at the end to wiki:examples and press Enter. Now the address bar looks like this:
http://ideas.liffeydublin.com/wiki/doku.php?id=wiki:examples
and you can use the Pencil icon on the right to Create This Page.
A handy hint if the page you are creating is laid out a bit like one of your other pages is to Edit the other page first, copy the text for that page to the clipboard, then cancel the Edit, create the new page, and paste back in the text. Now it's easy to edit it to whatever you want, instead of starting from scratch.
If you want to create a new table-of-contents section on the left, you do it exactly the same way only include the section name as well, e.g.:
http://ideas.liffeydublin.com/wiki/doku.php?id=ideas:drone_delivery
will create an Ideas section and start editing the page called 'Drone Delivery' underneath it. Use the '_' underscore character whenever you want to include a space in the page name, since you can't have spaces in web addresses.
